WHAT IS POC

Purchase of Care (POC) is a Federal Subsidy program that helps low-income families pay for their child care.

WHO IS ELIGABLE?

Parents or caretakers who meet income limits and can demonstrate a need for child care because of one of the following 

​

  • Employment 

  • Education (As it relates to Employment and Training rules for Food Benefit and/or TANF assistance)

  • Training

  • A client with a Medical Special Need 

  • A Child with a Special Need

  • A DFS Referral

How Do The Parents Or Caretakers Become Eligible For POC?

  • They can go to nearest Division of Social Service (DSS) office and ask to3 speak to spmeone about childcare or contact the DE Helpline at 1800-464-4357 or call 211 for information about locations near them or apply online. 

  • In addition to an application, proof of need for service and income will be needed.
